Javier Arata is the Chief Executive Officer for the North Europe region in Prysmian Group. Javier has been working in the industry for almost 30 years. After graduating from the University of Buenos Aires in 1990 with a Master of Electronics Engineering and working as an IT Consultant and Electronic Engineer, Javier started his career in manufacturing at Pirelli Pneumaticos in 1992. Since the start of his career at Pirelli, Javier has received a Master of Business Administration in IDEA as well as completed the International Exchange Program at London Business School (1994).

Born and raised in Argentina, Javier has plenty of international experience – from different positions in Argentina, UK, Spain, Brazil, Italy, Finland, Sweden and currently in Delft, the Netherlands. Javier blends engineering knowledge with a good business understanding and hands-on experience in many business areas – he has held positions as an Industrial Engineering Manager, Purchasing Director, Planning Manager for Latin America, B2B Manager for Europe, Global Logistics Director, Chief Executive Officer in Finland and now - CEO of the North Europe Region.

Grettel Leon received her Electronics Engineering degree in Venezuela, where she worked in heavy Industrial environments in Maintenance and Quality roles before migrating to Australia. She joined Prysmian in 2011 as a quality engineer supporting the commissioning of the ribbon line in the Dee Why Factory. After performing different roles in Quality, Product Management and Marketing, she was seconded to the UK as the QHSE Director in 2018, where she has built the integrated function while setting the foundations of the local sustainability strategy. In her more than 20 years of experience, she has embraced challenges that represent opportunities to start from scratch, building new teams and processes until running independently, before taking on new ones.

Victoria van Doeland studied law in Russia and in the Netherlands and has extensive legal experience. For the last six years she worked for a big international company in Rotterdam, a market leader in its field, being responsible for all legal affairs for the European and CIS region.

Dario is an HR Professional with +10 years of experience in industrial backgrounds in Italy, Middle East & Asia (Kazakhstan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Thailand). He covered different roles in the Group (HR Romania, HR Middle East and Africa) and in 2022 he was appointed as HR and Org. Director for the North Europe Region.

He is passionate about connecting people, creating links for better communication and performance and he is a strong diversity advocate. He believes that great results can only come through building an inclusive team.

Martina Ghioni has a degree in Management Engineering from Politecnico of Milan. She joined Prysmian in 2012 after an experience in a consulting firm. After one year of job rotation in Italy, she started making her first steps in Supply Chain as Planner in France (Paron) for 2 years. Back to Italy, she worked in the HQ Manufacturing team and then as responsible of Inventory in Supply Chain HQ team. In 2018, she actively participated to the General Cable integration and joined in 2019 South Europe organization as Central Planning Manager.

Fabrizio Filippucci graduated in Electronic Engineering at Bologna University and since 1992 he is working in Industrial Manufacturing environment. After 4 years in stainless steel industry and 18 in Pirelli, he joined Prysmian Group in 2014 in CEE Region, leading the main footprint projects in Eastern EU factories as the new optical cable factory in Slatina and the Kistelek extension. In 2017 he moved to the Netherlands as Emmen Plant Manager and later in Delft, consolidating his cable technology knowledge and the importance of customer intimacy as key business driver.

Richard has a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Groningen. He joined Draka in 2004 as a Material Developer in Emmen. After five years working for the Dutch organization, he joined Draka Communications (TLC) in 2009 as a Material Manager responsible for MMS and OFC material related R&D activities for Europe. In Prysmian Group, from 2011 Richard became responsible for the worldwide DTC activities for the TLC Business Units and in 2014 joined the Dutch Management Team as Chief Engineer for The Netherlands. The last three years Richard was the Business Manager for the HQ Cable Builder project and managed the Product Development and Innovation for North Europe. 

Currently in the role of Regional Chief Engineer, together with the R&D teams Richard is committed to take Sustainability, Digitalization and Innovation to a next level while continuing the focus on competitiveness (DTC, CSI) and operational efficiency (Simplification).

Yoana has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and MSc in Technology Management. Yoana has worked in global companies as Production leader at CEMEX (Construction Industry) and as Continuous Improvement leader and Buyer at Rolls Royce (both Marine and civil aerospace). In 2014, she joined Prysmian in Norway as Lead Buyer for raw materials and then she took different roles as Norway Purchasing Manager and North Europe Raw Material Manager. 

Yoana loves to be involved in international environments, as she has been working in Latin America, Asia & Europe. 

Nicola Scirocco has a degree in business (Italy and UK) and a post-degree in marketing. He started his career as brand and category manager first in Unilever, later in Cola-Cola HBC. He covered roles with increasing responsibilities within Marketing and Sales. He joined Prysmian as Marketing Manager and since 2014 he has been responsible for Pricing at Group Level. In 2021, Nicola moved to the North Europe region as MID Director, and he is actively involved in other activities too - he is the author of two marketing/sales books “Pricing INside OUT” (2020) and “The Shamrock Model: Marketing – Design – R&D convergence” (2011). 

Ercan graduated at the Marmara University and soon started a career as Independent Auditor joining Ernst & Young. In 2007, Ercan joined Prysmian Turkey as Financial Controller. He developed an international experience in 2012 by acting as CFO in Denmark before returning to Turkey in 2015. Since 2018, he worked as regional CFO for the Meat Region before moving to North Europe in 2022. 

Petri Paasonen started his journey in the late 1990s at the Pikkala plant, where he operated a scrapping machine. Little did he know that this humble beginning would pave the way for a remarkable career trajectory. Over the years, Petri climbed the corporate ladder, transitioning from the noisy factory floor to the corridors of IT management.

Today, he resides in the serene landscapes of Finland, surrounded by family and the simple pleasures of life. When not immersed in spreadsheets and project timelines, Petri indulges in two passions: savoring hearty Finnish cuisine and pedaling through the picturesque outdoors on his trusty bicycle.

Petri’s story is a testament to resilience, adaptability, and the joy of finding balance between work and leisure.

Cristiana Scelza joined Prysmian Group over 20 years ago, starting as a materials scientist in R&D, with following business roles that took her to China and Brazil, ultimately progressing to her previous role as the Country Manager for Prysmian Russia. She combines her technical knowledge, international experience, and leadership skills to drive teams to success and she enjoys integrating into new cultures and teams. 

Cristiana has always been a passionate advocate for Diversity and Inclusion. She led the launch the Group’s Side by Side initiative for creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace in 2016 which included a Diversity Work Stream, and clear global targets and guidelines. She was also elected as the President of Valore D for 2022-2025, after serving as a board member for many years. With family in Italy, she loves travelling and sharing time with her “sisters” and friends all around the globe , enjoying art , music, food, and good wine.

Lawrence Lamballais started his career with NKF in Delft, now Prysmian, in 1987 as an Electrical Engineer. During the years he held several positions whereby High Voltage remained the red wire in his career. He has worked in the Netherlands, the Middle East, UK and Germany in installation, project management and sales. In 2007 he became Commercial Director for Power Transmission and Distribution and since 2018 he is also responsible for High Voltage business in the Region North Europe.

Lawrence is long time married with Marija, has 2 grown up sons and hopes to become a grandfather soon. Besides being a passionate fly-fisherman, who makes his own artificial flies and chases trout in Alpine and Laplandic streams, he enjoys spending time with the family, good food, do odd jobs in and around his house, travelling and sightseeing.
