A new system that’s slimmer, more sustainable, and easier to install

OVERVIEW

Reduced diameters & carbon footprint with full functionality

Ecoslim™ - cable system consisting of small-diameter tubes and Sirocco HD or Sirocco Extreme (XT) optical cables which are available with up to 864 optical fibres.

Ecoslim™ uses the new generation of Easenet microducts which are up to 90% made of reclaimed HDPE, resulting in up to 50% less usage of virgin plastics compared to the conventional duct solutions. 

Sirocco cables are made with 50% less plastics and up to 25% smaller in diameter, in line with the Group’s committment to increase the amount of recycled materials in their products.

Smaller package. Bigger performance.

The new Ecoslim system utilises 10/7 mm ducts and provides the same performance capabilities as the legacy 14/10 mm products.

Installation

Less weight and a smaller size improve flexibility, making installation in crowded trenches easier. In civil areas, less outcoming soil has to be removed, keeping disruption to a minimum.

Logistics

The smaller diameter allows more metres of duct and cable per drum, reducing the number of truckloads and floorspace required for stock by up to 60%.

Ecoslim_Icon_Sustainability

Sustainability

Recycled PE and 50% less plastics used for cable and duct production, as well as reducing packaging waste and cutting losses leads to around 60% reduction in CO2 for networks (compared with 14/10 mm microducts).

Ecoslim_Icon_EPD

EPD

Environmental Product Declaration is available for an independent comparison with conventional networks, proving up to 50% CO2 reduction along the value chain and making Ecoslim™ one of the first optical network components with EPDs.
